In their indigenous habitats, both birch and alders are used for their wood, and is some situations for their bark and leaves; as a source of oil (including wintergreen), dyes and even as a food. They are also important as ornamental plants. In this course you will learn to develop knowledge in classification, identification and culture of plants from the genus Betula.
